ITF
Ships calling at Danish ports are subjected from time to time to boycotts and similar action by the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) or local trade unions.
This type of action often puts the shipping companies under considerable commercial pressure because loading or unloading operations may have to be suspended, causing major losses to the companies, notably because the ships are delayed and additional compensation may have to be paid to the crew or to other parties.
