Tax amnesty
All parties in the Danish Parliament, except for the Social Democrats, have agreed to introduce a tax amnesty scheme in 2011 for taxpayers with assets in tax haven countries. The Minister of Taxation will also be given the authority to buy information from banks and other sources abroad.

Beneficial ownership: Defeat to Danish Tax Authority
In the first Danish decision on “beneficial ownership” to dividends distributed out of Denmark in a cross-border structure, the Danish Tax Tribunal held against the Danish Tax Authority and recognized a Luxembourg holding company as the beneficial owner of the dividends.

New Danish Companies Act
On 1 March 2010, the first part of the new Danish Companies Act took effect. The new Act regulates public limited companies (in Danish: ''aktieselskaber'') as well as private limited companies (in Danish: ''anpartsselskaber''), and modernises and simplifies the overall regulation of both types of company.

Information exchange agreements trigger taxation
Denmark has recently entered into several information exchange agreements with low-tax countries (“tax havens”). This may have severe adverse tax implications for foreign companies with Danish branches and Danish transparent entities such as limited partnerships with non-resident partners.
