New managing partner at Kromann Reumert
Kromann Reumert is pleased to announce the appointment of lawyer and partner Claus Juel Hansen, 45 years, as new Managing Partner of the firm, effective from 1 July 2011.
He succeeds Søren Johansen, who will continue his career with Altor Equity Partners after having served 22 years with Kromann Reumert, 4 of which as Managing Partner.
Claus Juel Hansen developed early in life an interest in management and leadership. Having completed his training as a lawyer with the then Kromann & Münter, he was appointed head of the firm's London office at the age of 28. The years in the UK capital provided him with operational and managerial skills and allowed him to develop a strong international network. Since then, he has taken an active part in the management of Kromann Reumert, serving on the board of directors and on various committees, and he was one of the architects behind the firm's Managing Partner concept and management model, which was introduced in 2003 and which he will now be testing in practice.
"During many of the years as partner, I have been part of the management, so my interest in influencing the firm at management level is not a new thing. I look forward to being in charge of overall management as Managing Partner", says Claus Juel Hansen when asked about this new challenge.
Solid foundation
In the beginning of his career, Claus Juel Hansen dealt primarily with general company and commercial law matters, capital markets, and M&A. During the last nine years, he has, however, achieved distinction in the field of employment and labour law, contributing to Kromann Reumert's outstanding national and international reputation in this field.
Increased focus on the client's needs
In Claus Juel Hansen, Kromann Reumert will have a manager who is very enthusiastic about getting into dialogue with both employees and clients. In his opinion, lawyers of today should not only solve complex legal issues, but also take a more active approach in providing solutions that reach beyond the traditional legal work to ensure that the clients' specific situation and business needs are taken into account.
"In my view, the greatest challenge facing the legal profession in the years to come will be the need to adapt to new market trends. We must adapt to the clients' needs - not the other way around. We should not hesitate to start offering new types of services if they are demanded by our clients. We should use our unique knowledge of the legislative process and formation of rules and our unique network to create additional client value. We must be first-movers in as many areas as possible - after all, our vision is to set the standard, and we have to continue doing so also in the future".
New members of the board of directors
There will also be changes to Kromann Reumert's board of directors. Marianne Philip has been appointed as new Chairman and Arne Møllin Ottosen as new member. At the same time, Jørgen Kjergaard Madsen and Christian Lundgren will resign as board members.
